You grew up in Las Vegas, what was that like?
Rode dirtbikes, caught lizards, built desert forts and hung out with a mobster's kid (unknowingly-- until his father was found dead in a Iowa cornfield).
What brought you to LA?
Went to UCLA, studied theater..that's where I first met JB... we were both theater majors, studying acting. We became buddies and then both got into the Actors' Gang Theater Company in Hollywood, where we met Kyle...
Was Lee a nickname or just the name of your character on Tenacious D's HBO show?
"Lee" the character name was thought up by Bob Odenkirk for the HBO TD shorts..because it rhymed with the "D"... however, Kage claims to have thought up the whole psycho fan idea.
Do you ever get offended when people call you Lee instead of JR?
nope, not at all... its freaks me more when people know personal stuff about me..like what the J.R. stands for.... believe me, I have plenty of psycho fans... love-knife material fo sho.
You once played a role on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, did any sparks fly or was Sarah Michelle Gellar a total bitch?
Actually, didnt work with the Buffster.. I worked with "Willow" and she was fairly cool, gave me "Lee" props and D appreciation.. but then I was quickly killed with a levatating pencil to the back of my neck..

I'm a HUGE old Skool wrestling fan...like when Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Andre the Giant, and Captain Lou Albano were pile driving and cornerpost launching... I'm not much up for the new school wrestling stuff...
